Abraservice UK installs additional machining facilities to meet demand

Steel stockholders and processor specialists Abraservice UK has recently specified and installed additional machining facilities in their production factory in Birmingham, to meet the increasing demand for specialist steel components.

The Hartford Block Buster, 3 axis, CNC machine is a GBP 250,000 investment for the company.

The new equipment, now fully commissioned and operational, allows faster machining times leading to a higher throughput of work and increased production capacity, capability and efficiency for producing batch components more accurately and with a faster turnaround time, primarily for the OEM and maintenance sectors.

Abraservice UK already have a leading reputation for supplying a broad range of finished and semi finished steel components to many diverse and wide ranging markets including quarrying, mining, glass, paper and metal recycling as well as waste collection, agricultural equipment and for special projects in mechanical engineering and defense. Wear parts supplied, from a choice of steel grades from 400 and 500 HB to Duretal 35 overlay plate, include components such as frag liners, chute liners, cyclones and liners, grab tips, crusher and baler liners, castellated bed plates, screens, buckets, cutting edges, bevel blades, loading wear edges and other replacement parts.

The new CNC machining centre will allow Abraservice UK to optimize their service to customers by providing both high volume production series in a shorter time frame as well as having improved capabilities to produce bespoke, complex engineered parts to the highest quality and accuracy standards. Thus providing a wider selection of wear parts from a choice of specialist quality steel grades and further improving their quick turnaround service.

Mr Adrian Hance divisional director at Abraservice UK said that "This is a competitive market, but the new machining centre will allow us to retain a leading position. The key benefit our customers appreciate is our level of service. We have a good reputation for offering high quality specialist steel components and this investment ensures we continue to offer better options and more timely solutions to our customers."

Mr Nick Taylor, UK sales manager, said that "We understand that in these difficult times, customers do not want to stock materials and parts on a just in case basis, so at Abraservice we understand this and work to a just in time philosophy to support our customers and to achieve our company goals."
