Tenova Core installs beam reheat furnaces at Hyundai Steel
Monday, 08 Mar 2010Tenova Core has recently completed the successful start up of two 235 tonnes per hour walking beam furnaces for reheating slabs for a new plate mill at Hyundai Steel's Dangjin in South Korean plant.
The new fuel efficient furnaces are equipped with Tenova's state of the art Flexytech® low NOx burners. Tenova Core also designed and supplied the complete control and automation package that features an advanced thermal model based Level 2 control system.
The furnaces started operation in December and are currently operating at capacities that match the customer’s scheduled ramp up production plan. The furnaces will provide Hyundai Steel with the ability to efficiently reheat slabs for the production of consistent quality plate products.
Additionally, Tenova Core is currently erecting three more walking beam furnaces at Hyundai's Danjin plant for a new hot strip mill project. The three furnaces will begin operating in September 2010.
