Metal Treaters Report 3.0% Increase for First Quarter of 2008

The Metal Treating Institute reported sales of $221.2 million for the first quarter of 2008, a gain of 3.0% over the first quarter of 2007 when sales reached $214.8 million. March billings amounted to $75.2 million, down slightly (2.1%) from March 2007 billings which totaled $76.8 million. One third of the nine MTI districts reported higher sales in March, 2008. Seven districts topped their 2007 first quarter sales.
