Solar Atmospheres to Open Plant in California

Solar Atmospheres Inc. announced plans to open a heat-treating and brazing plant in the Los Angeles area. The company, which has filed for incorporation in California, plans to hire a management team and search for a greenfield site, probably in the Inland Empire area. Vacuum furnace orders will be placed with a goal of operating in 2009.

Financing for the project will come from current East Coast banking and new West Coast banking sources. A budget of up to $10 million is projected. Aerospace, titanium and super alloys are the targeted markets.
